Is MDF trim cheaper/more expensive than solid wood?
I am building a house, and the contractor we met with yesterday suggested MDF trim when I said I wanted white trim and baseboards. Is it cheaper or more expensive than solid wood trim? About how much can we expect to pay for this? Is MDF made white, or does it have to be painted?
MDF is much cheaper, I am not sure of the actual cost, but you can get it pretty cheap. It will have to be painted, since it usually comes in a grey.
